Reflection:
During my fall semester in 2011 I took Health Related Fitness (PED 182). This is a class that enriches upon the value of fitness. During the class we tested ourselves on endurance, flexibility, and muscular endurance. These test consisted of the pacer test, the mile, sit and reach, and others to get the needed results. These results showed what area of fitness could use improvement. We created a fitness plan to help improve in those areas of fitness. I believe there is always room for improvement in one’s fitness. This physical fitness workout is template that I created and reuse when I work out. Creating fitness plans is an important part of one’s healthy lifestyle. I created and use mine constantly, and encourage others to create their own. I follow my fitness plan and will encourage my students to do the same.
Teaching students how to design personal fitness programs to improve cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, endurance, and body composition is incorporated in NYS learning standard 1.
